Just Across our Street

Just across the street from our apartment is the largest municipal park in China. What makes this park very special is Jinji Lake; this lake is one of the largest in China and is the centerpiece of the park. On one end (just across our apartment building) is Li Going Di; the only causeway in Jinji Lake. Li Gong Di has many modern restaurants (italian, German, Japanese, Chinese, American, Korean, Indian, International, etc), stores, spas, night clubs and a few hotels. A very relaxing place; last night I had dinner on the German restaurant and sat outside right next to the lake. Beautiful night, warm, light wind, and as every night the lake was dotted with many colorful lights all around. Wish could have shared the time with my wife, but she is still in the US (returning this Thursday…yeah!). A few views from Li Gong Di posted below.

The buildings you see on the background is where we live; Marina Cove Garden complex. We really like to have such a wonderful park and lake with all its amenities right across our place.

A wider view that shows the boardwalk. A long walk and or run either way. While I do not use the boardwalk to ride my bike, one loop around the lake covers 9 miles.

Really liked this view the first time I saw it. Happy to finally take a picture of it at night. This is one of several bridges along Li Gong Di.

Took this picture from the middle of the bridge in the previous picture. This view is looking back to our building complex.

This view also from the middle of the large bridge, but looking away from our building complex.

Popular place to relax on the lake. In the background you can see the Birds Nest (a smaller version from the one in Beijing) and Times Square (the name just borrowed from New York's real Time Square - no resemblance really).

A wider view showing all of the previous picture plus more of Time Square and the gigantic Ferris wheel. It is a 120 meters (390 ft), it has 60 passenger cabins, a maximum capacity of 300 passengers, and takes approximately 20 minutes to complete each revolution.
